PROJECT 8 Constructing For Real Community Construction One Malaysia Introduction:

Year 1 Studio continues to run the RUS101 Accelerated Program for Excellence (RUS-APEX) by breaking off from the ambit of the ivory tower and reaching out to various communities Malaysia-wide. The purpose is to expose ourselves to communities by participating in part, with the life and development of the communities. Although the initial target is the bottom billion, this has to shift into something not too remote, but still communities outside of the ivory tower. The botanist community in Bukit Jenaton are those concerned with a sustainable tomorrow.

Bamboo Break is about quickly preparing ourselves (during this Eid break) so that we will be ready to be on site with the communities that we plan to service. There are physical and creative skills we need to develop fast. To do this, each student must own a parang/ golok (machete) which they must immediately use to cut and shape bamboo pieces for construction.

1.bamboo box ( One cube : 1m X 1m X 1m )

I do this cube before back to my hometown
because i can't bring it back if i doing it in my hometown.

2.bamboo gift (One small object made of bamboo as a gift item, creatively wrapped.)
The gift that I do is like tanglung. A small tanglung ......

After take the gift ,we go and take the 1m3 cube to joint it to a legoland

After repair, we form a group of 5 member
and joint a new one
